This anthology of modern Italian poetry contains both the English translation and original text, with the 38 entries representing symbolists, free-verse satirists, hermetic poets, new lyricists, feminists, fragmentists, avant-gardists and neo-realists. Condini, a poet and novelist, translates these verses from such celebrated Italian artists as Umberto Saba, Giovanni Pascola and Giorgio Guglielmino. Renga (Italian, Ohio State U.) supplies the introduction to the anthology as well as the notes.
