Summary: An Iranian trade delegation next month visits Nigeria to discuss ways of expanding bilateral economic ties.

At a round table on expansion of Iran-Nigeria economic ties held in Tehran Tehran or Teheran (both: tā'ərän`, –răn`), city (1991 pop. 6,475,527), capital of Iran and Tehran prov., N Iran, near Mt. Damavand.  this week, the two sides decided to boost cooperation in joint investments, holding exhibitions and delegation exchange between the two countries.

Based on the agreements, an Iranian high-ranking delegation will visit Nigeria in November to discuss expansion of bilateral trade.

Iran will also attend Nigeria's Commercial Exhibition to be held next month, as well.

Iran's exports to Nigeria exceeded $14 million last year.

Addressing the round table, Nigerian ambassador to Iran announced of his country's readiness to support Iranian companies' investments in the African country.

  • Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO)
  • Heavy Equipment Production Company (HEPCO)
 to invest in Nigeria's metallurgy metallurgy (mĕt`əlûr'jē), science and technology of metals and their alloys. Modern metallurgical research is concerned with the preparation of radioactive metals, with obtaining metals economically from low-grade ores, with , agriculture, petrochemicals, construction, steel, medicine and plastic sectors.

He also asked Iran to invest in his country's energy sector.
