Unlike the lamp, this is a production that needs little polishing because its success lies in its homely, traditional feel and the intimacy of the venue. Ian Lewis is superbly saucy as Widow Twankey and could even afford to ham it up Verb 1. ham it up - exaggerate one's acting ham, overact, overplay dramatic art, dramaturgy, theater, theatre, dramatics - the art of writing and producing plays a little more, while Aladdin's brother Wishee Washee is delightfully corny corn·y adj. corn·i·er, corn·i·est Trite, dated, melodramatic, or mawkishly sentimental. [From corn1. . A slightly dizzy Genie of the Ring also grabs the laughs while the guards Ting and Tang provide the silent movie twit treatment.
