I was amazed when I found out it was a new compound." Experts at Aberdeen and Southampton universities confirmed that her creation - diaceto trithiocyano plumbate - is an original compound. It belongs to a class of chemicals which can be used to make fake blood, but her substance is clear and a use for it has still to be found. Amy, of Findochty, Banffshire, wants a career in another branch of science. She said: "I would love to be a biology teacher.
