The enhancement will allow BailPro for DOS to function properly after Dec. 31, 1999. "Many of our agents began using BailPro for DOS before the Windows version was ready, and some of them aren't ready or willing to switch by the end of 1999," explained Tom Kiefer, vice president, Amwest Court Division. "To help these bail agents, we arranged for Micromega Systems to enhance the DOS program, and provide it to BailPro customers who currently have a valid license for the DOS version." Amwest has arranged for this enhancement to be made available to all qualified BailPro customers, regardless of whether or not they write for Amwest. "We're doing this as a service and gesture of good will to the bail industry at large, regardless of which surety an agent prefers," said Kiefer. For those agents who continue to use the DOS version of BailPro and who are not yet ready to switch to a new software package, this enhancement will give them continued use of the DOS version into the next millennium until they are ready to move to a Windows bail agency management software program. Amwest has underwritten both the cost of making the DOS version Year 2000 ready as well as the testing of the finished product.
