. In a unique pilot program, Amtech Lighting will provide traffic signal retrofit at 258 metered intersections throughout Dallas, as well as replace over 7,000 incandescent traffic lamps with energy efficient light-emitting diode (LED) units.

"With a strong commitment to the environment, Amtech's pilot program will enable the City of Dallas to conserve much-needed energy while continuing its Capital Improvement Program, which includes improvements to the City's street system, parks, and several police, recreational and cultural facilities," he added.

"By launching this new program with Amtech Lighting, re-lamping services will only be necessary every five to eight years, rather than the usual bi-annual procedure, in addition to the reduced energy consumption and environmental impact," said Alex Wong, traffic field operations program manager for the City of Dallas.
