Amtech Lighting Announces Acquisition in Minneapolis.

) has acquired the ongoing business of Suburban Lighting Company, which serves the upper Midwest The Upper Midwest is a region of the United States with no universally agreed-upon boundary, but it almost always lies within the US Census Bureau's definition of the Midwest and includes the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as at least the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  from headquarters in Minneapolis.

Founded in 1966 by Ann and Ed Larson, Suburban is now the largest lighting, sign and electrical maintenance and repair contractor in Minnesota.

According to the president of Amtech Lighting, Ron Gilcrease, "We will continue to expand our business in part by acquiring the premier regional companies in our industry. Our national network of strategically located branch offices allows us to better serve our current customers and new accounts as well. Our focus is on companies like Suburban, which are well-established, professionally-managed and service-oriented."

Matt McGinn, who served as the president of Suburban, has been appointed the branch manager for Amtech Lighting in Minneapolis. Duane Downey will continue to serve as operations manager.
