Amsurg Corp. Named to Forbes '200 Best Small Companies' List for Fifth Consecutive Year.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Ken P. McDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer of AmSurg Corp. (NASDAQ:AMSG), today announced the Company has been ranked 84th in the annual listing by Forbes of the "200 Best Small Companies", up from its ranking of 89th in last year's list. Having now been named to the list for five consecutive years, AmSurg's 2004 ranking was based on Forbes' calculations that AmSurg has produced a 31% average five-year growth rate in revenues and 32% in earnings per share. In addition, the Company's five-year average return on equity was 11%, according to Forbes.
