Amplified.com Announces Support for New Microsoft Windows Media Technologies V4.0 for Song Downloads.

Amplified.com today announced that it will adopt the new Windows Media Technologies See Windows Media.  4.0 audio codec (1) A hardware circuit that converts analog voice into PCM or ADPCM digital code and vice versa. The term may refer to only the A/D and D/A conversion, or it may include the compression technique for further reducing the signal (definition #2 below). Amplified.com is encoding See encode.  its vast library of over 100,000 songs using the new high-quality audio codec, code named, MSAudio and the Windows Media Rights Manager A digital rights management (DRM) system from Microsoft for securing digital content and distributing it over the Internet. Software components allow for publishing the files in an encrypted format, configuring and managing the site and issuing licenses. Starting with Version 6.  for digital distribution, and will offer this new format to its network of music retailers online.

Consumers will benefit by having songs available for download that can play on the new, and widely available, Microsoft Windows See Windows.

As consumers pay to download songs, payments to various copyright holders will be assured through Amplified.com and its recently announced partnership with Reciprocal, Inc.

A demonstration of the system was launched today in conjunction with Microsoft's introduction of Windows Media Technologies 4.0 at Internet World in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . The complete service will be available second quarter of 99 to the Amplified.com network of retail affiliates.
