Amplidyne receives development order for wireless local loop amplifiers.

SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1997--Amplidyne Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPD, AMPDW), a manufacturer of wireless communications amplifiers, today announced that the company has received a contract to develop a small quantity of wireless local loop amplifiers.

The company expects the units will be shipped within the third quarter to this key customer. The company expects production orders to begin in the fourth quarter. The company's customer has provided information forecasting the proposed usage of this equipment which could result in the increase of production orders for the company during fiscal 1997 and through the fiscal year of 1998.

In anticipation of the company's expected increasing needs for large scale manufacturing, the company has hired Leonard Edwards as the new production manager. Edwards is a former employee of ITT Avionics, where he successfully achieved a high level of manufacturing efficiency.
