) announced that it has resolved a work stoppage stoppage - /sto'p*j/ Extreme lossage that renders something (usually something vital) completely unusable. "The recent system stoppage was caused by a fried transformer."  that began Oct. 21 at its Sidney, N.Y. plant.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995, the employees at the plant overwhelmingly approved a new three-year labor contract that covers approximately 1,000 workers. The work force immediately began phased in production on Saturday with full production commencing today. The company announced that the work stoppage will have no significant impact on its earnings for the fourth quarter. The Sidney plant manufactures interconnect (1) To attach one device to another.
