Ampal Has Entered Negotiations for the Purchase of the Controlling Holdings in Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals Ltd.

TEL AVIV, Israel -- Ampal-American Israel Corporation (Nasdaq:AMPL) announced today that further to a public announcement in Israel of Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals Ltd. ("Gadot"), Ampal is conducting preliminary negotiations with the controlling shareholder of Gadot for the purchase of all its shares in Gadot based on a company value of approximately 545 million New Israeli Shekel.

No agreement has been signed between the parties and there can be no assurance that the negotiations will be successful.
