Amp'd in Japan: Amp'd Mobile Amp'd Mobile was a mobile phone service launched in the United States in late 2005. The company was a Mobile Virtual Network Operator and operated on the Verizon Wireless CDMA EV-DO network. Its primary non-Venture Capital investors were MTV Networks and Universal Music Group. , a mobile entertainment
provider in West L.A., will deliver much of its exclusive entertainment
content to Japan through a new portal service for the sub scribers of
Tokyo-based KDDI KDDI Corporation (TYO: 9433 ) is a Japanese telecommunication operator formed in October 2000 through the merger of DDI Corp., KDD Corp., and IDO Corp.[1] KDDI provides mobile cellular services using both the au/kddi (au by KDDI) and the Tu-Ka/kddi (TU-KA by KDDI) Corp., a mobile communication company. The service is
expected to launch in March 2007. Currently, Amp'd Mobile content
is only available to U.S. subscribers on the Amp'd Live service.
However, the KDDI deal follows a similar deal with Canadian Canadian (kənā`dēən), river, 906 mi (1,458 km) long, rising in NE New Mexico. and flowing E across N Texas and central Oklahoma into the Arkansas River in E Oklahoma. provider,
Telus, that will supply Amp'd Music, Videos, Games, Sports, and
Lifestyle content to subscribers of Telus starting in early 2007.
Together, the two deals will bring Amp'd programming to nearly 25
million people.
