Amoco Names Sensormatic Preferred Provider of Video Surveillance Systems.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 1998--Sensormatic Electronics Corporation (SRM:NYSE) today announced that it has been named the preferred provider of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems for Amoco's U.S. direct-operated service stations. Amoco, headquartered in Chicago, Ill., has annual revenues of more than $38 billion and operates more than 700 company-owned stores in the United States. Amoco also has an additional 5,000 franchise operations.

Amoco's decision to name Sensormatic its preferred provider of CCTV systems was based, in part, on Sensormatic's success at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta as the official electronic security supplier. Amoco executives were first made aware of the scope of Sensormatic's security solutions during a tour of the Command and Control Center. Other deciding factors included the quality and ease-of-use of the products and Sensormatic's nationwide support network.
