SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2003

Amnis Corporation, an emerging biotechnology company creating a next-generation cell analysis platform, announces the sale of its first ImageStream(TM) 100 platform for multispectral imaging of cells in flow.

Delivery of the beta system to an undisclosed major biotechnology company is scheduled for the second quarter of 2003.

"Amnis' ImageStream(TM) platform is the only technology capable of sensitively imaging cells in flow using fluorescence fluorescence (flrĕs`əns), luminescence in which light of a visible color is emitted from a substance under stimulation or excitation by light or other forms of electromagnetic , brightfield, and darkfield imaging modes. The high speed and breakthrough capabilities of the platform will allow our customers to develop new cell-based assays for drug discovery and development that were never before possible," stated Harold Kawaguchi, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
