Amkor Names James Zug to Board of Directors.

CHANDLER, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 2003

Amkor Technology Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMKR) is a high-tech semiconductor product manufacturer that includes Intel and IBM among its primary customers. Previously headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States, Amkor recently announced that it will move to Chandler, , Inc. (Nasdaq:AMKR AMKR Amkor Technology ) announced that its Board of Directors has named James W. Zug a director. With this appointment, Amkor's board has expanded from 7 to 8 members, of which 6 are outside directors.

Mr. Zug, 62, retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  (PWC) in 2000 following a distinguished 37-year career at PWC and Coopers & Lybrand. From 1998 until his retirement Mr. Zug was Global Leader -- Global Deployment for PWC. From 1993 to 1998 he was Managing Director International for Coopers & Lybrand. PWC is Amkor's independent accountants.

Mr. Zug serves on the boards of directors of SPS (Standby Power System) A UPS system that switches to battery backup upon detection of power failure. See UPS.
