Amisk Inc. Prepares to Invest in Leading Edge Technology: Pyrocycling.JONQUIERE, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1998--AMISK INC inc - /ink/ increment, i.e. increase by one. Especially used by assembly programmers, as many assembly languages have an "inc" mnemonic. Antonym: dec. . (ME:AS.A.) Amisk Inc. has announced that it is preparing to make an investment through the Sodexfor limited partnership, that will pave PAVE Cardiology A clinical trial–Post AV Node Ablation Evaluation the way for the first industrial Pyrocycling(TM) platform in Jonquiere, in the Saguenay. Pyrocycling(TM) is an innovative technology involving vacuum pyrolysis py·rol·y·sis n. This $40 million international project is being carried out in partnership with the Pyrovac Group (consisting of Sodexfor, Rexfor and the group of developers), and Ecotechniek bv, a Netherlands corporation. It will be carried out in two phases, specifically the construction of a pilot plant, and, if results warrant it, the construction of a commercial plant. The project will allow for the development and marketing of several products, such as a carbolic Car`bol´ic a. 1. (Chem.) In addition to the partners named earlier, other key players, such as Forintek, Universite Laval and Orenda Aerospace Orenda Aerospace is a Canadian aircraft engine manufacturer and parts supplier and part of the Magellan Aerospace Corporation. As part of the earlier A.V. Roe Canada organization and later, Orenda Engines, they produced a number of military jet engines from the 1950s through the Corporation, are active collaborators in the product development process. Once the in-depth verification procedure currently underway has been completed to the satisfaction of Sodexfor, the latter will invest $1.5 million in the first phase of the project whose total cost is estimated at approximately $6.5 million, making Sodexfor a 15 percent shareholder in Groupe Pyrovac Inc. Groupe Pyrovac Inc. will hold 50 percent interest in the pilot plant, while the other half will be held by Ecotechniek bv. If the pilot plant results warrant it, Sodexfor will be able to invest in the project once again, this time in the construction of the commercial plant, and hold direct and indirect interest of up to 32.5 percent. This investment resulting from the sustained efforts of Amisk, Pan-o-Lac Ltee and Sodexfor will allow for the creation, in the Saguenay, of a leading edge technology plant dedicated to the conversion and reclamation of another range of products from the forest biomass. This investment will therefore represent a significant milestone in Amisk's forestry portfolio. CONTACT: Amisk Inc.
