Amir Muqam says dissidents' failed convention merely revive the Chattha.

League. Islamabad, August 10, 2009 (Frontier Star): Engineer Amir Muqam, President, PML, NWFP has congratulated the committed PML workers and leaders of the Frontier Province who have uphold the politics of principles over the drawing room politics of Big Money. Talking to the media at the PML House in Islamabad Monday, he stated that the so called "convention" of the like-minded group could only muster a handful of individuals who comprise less than 5% Muslim Leaguers from the Frontier Province while 95% remain committed to the PML. He said that this so called convention had exposed the claim of the dissident faction because no body of consequence showed up in Peshawar and these handful of people have merely ended up reviving the old, discredited Chattha League. Conversely, Amir Muqam stated, that at the Abbottabad Convention on July 8, 2009, which elected him as NWFP PML President, five MNAs of NWFP out of six, five MPAs of NWFP out of six, six District Nazims, sixteen Tehsil Nazims, 62 Provincial Assembly ticket holders, and 22 National Assembly ticket holders participated. Concluding, the PML President of NWFP Amir Muqam said that the dissidents conspiring in drawing rooms should return to their big bungalows in Lahore and Peshawar since they had no capacity to face the people and their dismal failure showed that money cannot buy people and politics.
