Amino Announces Middleware Integration for Set-Top Box with PVR - PVR Enabling Middleware from Minerva and Myrio Ported to The AmiNET500.

CAMBRIDGE, England -- Amino Communications today announced the availability of two major middleware applications for its AmiNET500 IPTV (Internet protocol TV) set-top box with integral PVR (personal video recorder). The new Minerva iTVManager 2 and Myrio Interactive 3.5 client software have now been ported to the AmiNET500, enabling Telcos to seamlessly upgrade subscriber offerings to include PVR functions on live television broadcasts. These include scheduled record from EPG, viewing one channel whilst recording another, pause, fast-forward and reverse, and slow motion frame-by-frame. Both applications were demonstrated at TelcoTV in Orlando, Florida.

The AmiNET500

The AmiNET500 is a recent addition to Amino's award winning range of small, low-cost, high performance IPTV set-top boxes and contains an 80Gbyte hard disk drive which is capable of storing around 40 hours of programme material. It measures just 184 x 240 x 56mm and combines IPTV decoder functions with a full-featured PVR, and ability to stream content to other devices.

Minerva iTVManager

The cornerstone of the Minerva IP Television Headend, Minerva iTVManager is a carrier-class, highly scalable interactive television services management suite. iTVManager performs all of the operations necessary to manage the delivery of advanced television services, including Live TV, Video-on-Demand (VOD), Subscription-VOD (SVOD), Pay-Per-View (PPV) and Personal Video Recorder (PVR).

Myrio Interactive

Myrio Interactive is an end-user software application for set-top boxes that enables subscribers to watch Digital TV, order a movie, listen to digital music, check the weather, and browse the Web through their televisions.
