author, speaker and columnist columnist, the writer of an essay appearing regularly in a newspaper or periodical, usually under a constant heading. Although originally humorous, the column in many cases has supplanted the editorial for authoritative opinions on world problems. , Debbie Gisonni, says it's just a matter a choice.

Gisonni says, "People want to have happy, peaceful lives yet most of what they read in the papers is bad news confirming a belief that life should be miserable. Why not give them another choice?"

Gisonni believes we can create our own happiness through the conscious choices we make. She spent fifteen years in business sales, marketing and executive positions, leading and motivating teams of people through major product and company changes. After losing four family members in four years, she left her fifteen-year corporate career and started Real Life Lessons(R), a company dedicated to inspiring people to embrace life's challenges and changes (at work and at home) with a positive attitude. "My goal is to help people find their own happiness and inner peace through my writing, presentations, workshops and consulting."

The "Be Happy" column launches April 15 with distributions via email twice per month. Each column begins with a choice that leads to happiness and ends with five ways to make that choice. In one column, Choose Balance, Gisonni shares her own experience of managing a high-level executive position and a family that was falling apart. "I looked as though I had effortlessly ef·fort·less
