BURLINGAME, Calif. -- Guidewire Software([R]), a leading global provider of solutions to property and casualty (P&C) and workers' compensation workers' compensation, payment by employers for some part of the cost of injuries, or in some cases of occupational diseases, received by employees in the course of their work.  insurers, today announced the winners of its Innovation Awards: Amica Mutual Insurance Amica Mutual Insurance is a mutual insurance company founded in 1907 and located in Lincoln, Rhode Island offering primarily auto, home, and life insurance. The company is licensed in 49 US states with most business concentrated in the Northeastern United States, Florida, Texas,  Company; Rosgosstrakh; and Suncorp. The winners were recognized for using or implementing Guidewire's applications in innovative ways to deliver significant business value to their enterprise.

Every Guidewire customer was eligible to submit their in process or implemented projects for consideration. The Guidewire customer base was then given the opportunity to cast their vote. The winners were announced in the final session of Guidewire's Connections 2007 user conference; where each winner presented an overview of their project. The winning projects are:

Amica Mutual Insurance Company (Amica) - Electronic Claim File (ECF (Enhanced Connectivity Facilities) IBM software that allows DOS PCs to query and download data from mainframes and issue mainframe commands. It also allows printer output to be directed from the PC to the mainframe. )

Suncorp's Claims Business Model Program was created to help Suncorp improve its claims business by improving the customer experience while reducing its indemnity and loss adjustment expense costs. Suncorp reengineered its core business processes, then leveraged ClaimCenter's significant out of the box claims functionality to enable its new "desired state" which included extending base ClaimCenter capabilities to include supplier management functionality - which is now seamlessly integrated into the overall claims process.
