Ames signs lease in NJ Caldor's site.


Edward R. Home, director of Brokerage Services for The Schultz Organization, reported a 87,000 square-foot lease has been signed by Ames Ames, city (1990 pop. 47,198), Story co., central Iowa, on the Skunk River; inc. 1870. Its chief manufactures are electronic, water-analysis, and water-treatment equipment; motor vehicles; construction materials; and machinery.  of Route 66 and Neptune Boulevard, the former Caldor Department Store spans 111,600 square feet. The remaining 22,600 square feet of space not being utilized by Ames will be marketed to additional retailers, with store sizes ranging from 1,700 to 20,000 square feet. Other notable tenants at the center include Shop Rite, Pet Valu and Summit Bank.

"The Schultz Organization was very professional and in-tune with our sense of urgency and also extremely responsive to our requests," said Jeff Gellerman, manager of Real Estate at Ames.
