Iowa State Univ.  On-Demand(R) announced today that it has entered into a purchase agreement with Xerox to add new technically-advanced equipment to its short-run and custom book printing facilities in Somerville, MA. The new equipment will allow the company to provide faster, more affordable printing--and enhanced customization capabilities--for education and training publishers.

Ames On-Demand is the first company in New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  to offer publishers the ability to print custom books using the new Xerox DocuTech 6180 Wide Format Printer and DigiPath with Color Splitter software. Additionally, Ames On-Demand is the first in New England to combine this solution with the new DocuColor 6060 Color Digital Press.
