Discovery Systems posted "modest growth," but sales of reagents and consumables were good. Sales of Protein Separations systems increased 13% and are expected to accelerate over the fourth quarter. Amersham plc Amersham plc was a UK pharmaceutical company, specializing in medical diagnostics and life science products.

The company was formed in 1997 by merging Amersham International (U.K.), Pharmacia Biotech (Sweden) and Nycomed (Norway).
