, a next generation slide processor that fully automates the hybridization step of microarray applications.

This flexible, modular system minimizes manual handling, simplifying microarray experiments and improving the reliability and reproducibility of results.

"The Lucidea(TM) SlidePro Hybridizer is the only automated system to optimize and run standard hybridization protocols simultaneously or at staggered start times," says Michael Pettigrew, Vice President of Marketing, Genomics, at Amersham Biosciences. "Reliability and consistency of results are crucial for microarray data analysis, and the Lucidea(TM) SlidePro maximizes signal and ratio uniformity to ensure reproducibility across and among slides."

Amersham Biosciences designed the Lucidea(TM) SlidePro Hybridizer to automate slide pretreatment pretreatment,

, non-static hybridization, stringency washes, and slide drying. The system includes one to five modules, each containing six hybridization chambers, and offers users the flexibility of being able to process from one to 30 slides at a time.

Individual temperature control for each chamber allows for customized process parameters for each slide. The vertical chamber design ensures efficient and active probe mixing and facilitates reuse of probe. The multi-module protocol software provides flexibility by enabling users to run a different protocol on each module, and each module can run simultaneously or with different starting times.

Amersham Biosciences provides Lucidea(TM) SlidePro Hybridizer with optimized protocols for both cDNA and oligo microarrays using various surface chemistries and a large range of commercial slide types. The software automates all chemicaland biochemical techniques used with standard microscope slides. Lucidea(TM) SlidePro is also ideal for slide processing applications such as protein arrays, in situ hybridizations in situ hybridization A method for localizing a sequence of DNA, mRNA, or protein in a cell or tissue; the use of a DNA or RNA probe to detect a cDNA sequence in chromosome spreads or in interphase nuclei or an RNA sequence of cloned bacterial or cultured  and immunocytochemistry im·mu·no·cy·to·chem·is·try

. Lucidea(TM) SlidePro offers a fast, easy, and highly reliable alternative to manual hybridization, saving time and enabling improved reproducibility and enhanced detection.
