Amerix Precious Metals Samples Extensive Gold Mineralization at Novo Brasilia Project.

TORONTO -- Amerix Precious Metals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:APM) announced today that it has discovered extensive gold mineralization  at its Novo Brasilia property in Para State, Brazil.

During a recent sampling program of the Aracati garimpeiro pit, Amerix geologists discovered a gold-mineralized zone rich in sulfides and carbonates associated with quartz veins. Assay values in grab samples ranged from 9.54 grams gold per tonne (gpt) in garimpeiro tailings to 162.74 gpt in the main vein.

The width of the main vein varies up to more than a metre. Hard-rock grab samples in the footwall-hangingwall revealed gold-bearing, highly sulfidised (pyrite) rocks running up to 13.27 gpt. The width of this encasing rock is approximately 500 m and the mineralized zone has been consistently traced for at least 550 m along strike. Amerix estimates the total length of the mineralized zone could be greater than 2 km.

"We have established the continuity of the gold-mineralized zone from occurrences of outcrop and fractured quartz vein systems along strike. In addition, there are visible free gold occurrences within the vein," said Amerix President and CEO John Andrews.

The Novo Brasilia prospect lies north of the Pacu River in the southwestern part of Para State. Amerix plans to drill the new zone together with other geochemical targets which are being developed in the same area.

"This recent sampling undertaken at Novo Brasilia provides further confirmation that our 40,000-hectare Vila Porto Rico land position, which encompasses the Novo Brasilia and Ouro Roxo prospects, has become a key exploration focus for Amerix," Mr. Andrews said.

Geologically, the mineralized zone is within acid to intermediary rocks types, which are schistosed, mylonitized and are aligned heading NS to N10W, dipping at a sub-vertical angle. The rocks also maintain a positive relief for hundreds of meters; these rolling hills are cut by various drainages which reveal old abandoned garimpeiro workings as well as important outcrop indications which reveal the continuity of the same rock types. In certain portions of the mineralized zone it was also observed that the quartz vein can be divided into several veinlets. Information gathered from the garimpeiro workings indicates that the vein maintains its gold content as the garimpeiro mining activity continues within the oxidized zone.

There are strong geologic indications that the condition described above repeats itself normal to dip as the encasing rock comprises approximately 500 m in width. Accordingly, similar geological settings could be repeated. Also it was observed that in portions of the outcrop, there were strong quartz vein systems indicating strong hydrothermal activity along the schist rock types.

Progress on the Behre Dolbear NI 43-101 report for the Ouro Roxo deposits is progressing toward a conclusion which Amerix believes will occur in the next several weeks.

The chemical analyses on the samples were performed by Lakefield/Geosol of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9002 certified assayer.
