) today updated its earnings guidance for the second quarter of fiscal 2004 to $0.16 to $0.19 per share and for fiscal year 2004 to $0.56 to $0.79 per share. An updated Outlook Statement is available at the Company's corporate Web site located at www.amtd.com.

The Company reported an average daily volume of 197,000 trades in February February: see month. . Margin Loan Balances and Client Assets

The Company reported an average client margin loan balance in February of approximately $3.5 billion. On February 27, 2004, client margin loan balances totaled approximately $3.7 billion. Client assets totaled about $73.3 billion of which cash and money market assets totaled $11.7 billion.
