Ameritech announces technology agreement with IBM subsidiary.

) today announced that they have signed a multi-billion dollar, 10-year agreement for information technology services.

The deal is one of the largest ever in terms of the amount of mainframe computing capacity involved.

Under the agreement, ISSC will manage Ameritech's data center operations and ongoing consolidation efforts. Additionally, ISSC will provide help desk services for the data center operations, as well as implement a comprehensive disaster recovery system capability.

Last December Ameritech and IBM announced an alliance to provide business customers a single source for voice, data and video needs.
