Ameritas Group Responds to Hurricane Katrina.


LINCOLN, Neb. -- Ameritas Group, the dental and eye care division of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., is working diligently to respond to the needs of its customers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism. . "Ameritas Group is currently assessing the well-being of our customers, including policyholders, members, brokers and dentists, in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina," said Senior Vice President - Group Division Ken VanCleave, LLIF LLIF LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow . "We are determined to do what's best for these individuals based on their immediate needs, and ease their burden at this difficult time."

There are several issues that Ameritas Group will be addressing in response to this disaster, including group administration and billings and claims payment. As businesses and individuals focus on recovery efforts, Ameritas Group customers can be assured coverage will remain intact and claims will continue to be processed. The division will also closely follow any orders or mandates that are released from state insurance departments.

"Each customer's situation will be addressed on a case-by-case basis," added VanCleave. "We know needs may vary greatly, and we are investigating all possible solutions. Processes are currently in place to allow flexibility for premium payments and eligibility updates. We want to stress that affected cases will not be terminated and our goal is to work with each customer to deliver benefits and services as efficiently as possible."
