:AMP) has named Andrew MacMillan Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications & Government Affairs, a new position reporting to James Cracchiolo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

MacMillan is responsible for leading all Ameriprise employee and advisor communications, shareholder-related communications, media relations, public affairs with national and regional constituents, government affairs, philanthropic and community relations.

Most recently MacMillan was Head of Corporate Communications and Global Marketing - Americas for Barclays Capital. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Communications for Nasdaq, working for Nasdaq Chairman Frank Zarb, and he also spent more than 12 years at Credit Suisse First Boston Credit Suisse First Boston was originally the trading name of the Financière Crédit Suisse-First Boston, a London-based 50-50 investment banking joint venture formed in 1978 between the First Boston Corporation and Credit Suisse.  in communications as well as public finance. Earlier in his career, MacMillan held roles in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and consulting.
