The agreement with Mark III, announced in October of last year without identifying the customer, is the first of such alliances between Amerigon and an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and ).

Mark III will debut the CCS option at the National Automobile Dealer Association convention in New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded , which runs from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4.

The Amerigon CCS System is the world's first active temperature control system for motor vehicle seats. While other seats provide heating, this innovative system is the first to provide heating and cooling, ensuring the utmost in passenger comfort on cold, as well as hot sticky days.

The air circulated through the surface of the seats by the system also keeps occupants virtually moisture-free, helping them to feel dry and comfortable even in extreme temperatures. The CCS system will be offered by Mark III as an option on its luxury customized vehicles, which will be available via dealers to consumers for the first time nationwide in February.

Amerigon expects to begin recording revenue from the Mark III agreement in the first quarter ending March 31, 1998.

Based on technology originally developed for military and aerospace applications, the CCS System is compact, solid-state and quiet. Depending on temperature settings determined by the vehicle's occupants, the CCS System circulates hot or cold air through the seat to enhance passenger comfort.

Mark III Chief Executive Officer Larry Lincoln commented, "The key to driver and passenger comfort is the seat temperature control system. Each seat has individual input controls, which allow the occupant to set the system to his or her own personal comfort level.
