Ameridata Inc. and CompuCom Win State Computer Store Contract.


SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 1996--California Department of General Services (DGS) officials have awarded a statewide contract to computer companies Ameridata Inc. and CompuCom.

The contract will allow for the expansion of more robust computer software and hardware services to state, cities, counties, schools and special districts.

 Department of General Services Program Manager Paul Apfel, the contract calls for the stores to be located in Sacramento, San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . With the contract, all government agencies will have a wide range of computer products and services to choose from.

The new store in Sacramento will be operated by Ameridata; the stores in San Francisco and Los Angeles will be run by CompuCom. Each new location will feature sales, service and support on the latest computer hardware and software ducts. Catalogs for products offered by both Ameridata and CompuCom will be available on the Internet and through paper catalog catalog, descriptive list, on cards or in a book, of the contents of a library. Assurbanipal's library at Nineveh was cataloged on shelves of slate. The first known subject catalog was compiled by Callimachus at the Alexandrian Library in the 3d cent. B.C.  supplements.
