ACF - Advanced Communications Function ) today reported that the Company and certain of its officers and directors have been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas The United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas (N.D. Tex.) is a United States district court. Its first judge, Andrew Phelps McCormick, was appointed to the court on April 10, 1879. The court convenes in Dallas, Texas. seeking class action status. The lawsuit alleges violations of section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 arising from the Company's use of the cash-in method of measuring and accounting for credit enhancement Credit Enhancement A method whereby a company attempts to improve its debt or credit worthiness. Notes: Credit enhancements take many different forms. An example of a credit enhancement would be conversion rights added on to a debt instrument in order to lower the issuing assets in its financial statements for the second, third and fourth quarters of fiscal year 1997, fiscal year 1998 and the first quarter of fiscal year 1999. The Company's previous use of the cash-in method of measuring and accounting for credit enhancement assets was consistent with then current generally accepted accounting principles The standard accounting rules, regulations, and procedures used by companies in maintaining their financial records.
