OTC See over-the-counter market (OTC). :AMGM) Tuesday announced that it has entered into an agreement with SAFIKA, a Johannesburg, South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa. based investment holding company to form a joint venture enterprise, SAFIKA Americas Gaming International ("SAGI") to operate gaming machines and distribute equipment to the evolving gaming industry in South Africa and to other African markets. The joint venture agreement calls for profits and losses to be equally divided. Bill R. Williams, president and chief executive officer of Americas Gaming commented that he was delighted with the prospect of expansion into the South African gaming market with its enormous potential and with the opportunity to be affiliated with a company such as SAFIKA, whose principles represent a broad professional spectrum of business consulting, legal, accounting, political and gaming expertise. Williams further stated that all indications are that a South African national gaming bill will be enacted by April 1996, that will provide for two levels of gaming licenses; one for 40 to 50 casinos and the other for up to five gaming machines on premises not primarily used for gaming. SAGI has commenced marketing efforts in South Africa and fully expects to have machines operational within a short period of the gaming legislation becoming effective. Estimates for a total number of machines in South Africa vary widely, from 100,000 to 200,000, with company objectives being a 10 percent market share, Williams added.
