, May 19 - 23 drew a strong SAP user community of nearly 6,000 attendees despite the soft economy. The success of the conference demonstrates ASUG's continued strength as the largest independent SAP Users' Group.

"SAP has traditionally provided strong support for ASUG programs and events. This year's conference was no exception as SAP has provided more than 420 employees to support ASUG onsite in Miami. ASUG represents a strong collective voice of SAP customers in providing strategic input into solution development," stated Campbell. ASUG board members will impart the value of the organization to its members at SAPPHIRE(R) 2001, in Orlando, June 12 - 15, 2001 in the SAPPHIRE exhibit hall.

The ASUG Annual Conference & Vendor Fair is an educational event for SAP users interested in networking and sharing hands-on experiences with colleagues. Conference attendees participated in the 360 educational sessions presented by more than 400 SAP users. In addition to the strong educational content, more than 200 vendors exhibited in the Vendor Fair. SAP Labs SAP Labs are the Research and Development Organizations of Parent Company SAP AG. SAP has its Labs spread across the globe.

Professor Dr. Claus Heinrich, executive board member, SAP AG, returned to ASUG for a second year, headlining the Wednesday afternoon special session. Heinrich delivered a keynote presentation on the SAP product and service development direction stressing that ASUG would continue to have an influence on SAP product direction and strategy.

The 2001 Annual Conference also hosted a record number of SAP experts and Platinum Consultants to supplement the member-presented ASUG educational content. "Thanks in part to the strong working relationship between ASUG and SAP, the ASUG Board of Directors feels that the 2001 Annual Conference educational content was the strongest ever," stated Kurt Basler, the ASUG 2001 - 2002 president.

ASUG is a customer-run, independent, not-for-profit organization. Its mission is three main goals, to educate its members, facilitate networking among colleagues and SAP representatives, and influence future SAP product releases.
