Also called PA. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until the set . Nearly four in ten Americans (37 percent) pick eating healthy or losing weight as their number one resolution for 2007, compared with 33 percent last year. Twenty-two percent choose paying down debt as the top resolution, compared with 20 percent last year.

Also similar to last year, nearly half of Americans (48 percent) say losing ten pounds would be very or somewhat difficult for them in 2007, while 31 percent say paying off all their credit card debt Credit card debt is an example of unsecured consumer debt, accessed through ISO 7810 plastic credit cards.

Debt results when a client of a credit card company purchases an item or service through the card system.
 would be difficult.

"While it's great to see Americans focused on their physical well-being, they should also remember the importance of continuing to manage their debt in the New Year," said Lucy Duni, Director of Consumer Education for TransUnion's TrueCredit.com.  housing markets and rising credit card interest rates, consumers need to monitor and manage their credit as well as their calories." The Mortgage Banking Association's National Delinquency Survey recently cited increases in mortgage delinquencies and foreclosures during the third quarter.

The survey also found correlations between age and attitudes about resolutions:

* Americans 50 years of age or older are more than twice as likely to view losing ten pounds as difficult than paying off all their credit debt

* Thirty-three percent of those age 25-34 say paying down debt is their number one resolution

* Respondents age 35-49 are equally concerned with eating healthy and paying down debt, with 31 percent naming each as their top resolution

To help consumers continue to manage their credit effectively in 2007, TransUnion's TrueCredit.com is now offering its exclusive Three-Bureau Credit Monitoring subscriptions for a flat $14.95 per month fee. "Most experts advise consumers to check all three of their distinct credit reports frequently," adds Duni. "TrueCredit.com is the only place consumers can get unlimited access to all three of those reports and scores." The monitoring subscription provides:

* Unlimited access to all three credit reports and credit scores

* Email notification within 24 hours of critical changes to all three reports
