Americana Music Association Will Host Special Party And Showcase March 14 At South By Southwest Music Conference.Entertainment Editors NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2002 The Americana Music Association The Americana Music Association (AMA) is a trade organization developed to provide professional support and to promote awareness of Americana music. Toward these ends the organization works with artists, radio stations, record labels, publishers, and others to create networking is proud to be hosting a party and showcase at SXSW SXSW South By Southwest, Inc. (Texas music festival) in Austin, TX this year. The Americana Showcase will be an officially sanctioned SXSW event and will be held on Thursday March 14th at Antones. Performers include Caitlin Cary Caitlin Cary is an alt-country musician originally from Seville, Ohio, United States. Cary began playing the violin at age six. She joined the band Whiskeytown in 1994, while in college at North Carolina State University. Organizers expect Merlefest 2002, in its 15th year, to be even bigger this April.
