AmericanWest Bancorporation Appoints Allen Ketelsen to Board of Directors.

SPOKANE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 2003

AmericanWest Bancorporation (Nasdaq:AWBC AWBC Australian Wine Brandy Corporation ) today announced its Board of Directors has appointed Allen Ketelsen to the board to replace Norman McKibben, who resigned from his position as director of AWBC for personal reasons, effective January 30, 2003.

Mr. Ketelsen is the President of Ketelsen Construction Co. of Walla Walla, Washington Walla Walla is both the county seat of Walla Walla County, Washington, and the county's largest city. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 29,686GR6. , which is a commercial and residential construction firm that has been serving the Walla Walla Walla Walla (wŏl`ə wŏl`ə), city (1990 pop. 26,478), seat of Walla Walla co., SE Wash., at the junction of the Walla Walla River and Mill Creek, near the Oregon line; inc. 1862.  Valley since 1980.

Mr. Ketelsen was a director of a former subsidiary bank previously acquired by AmericanWest Bancorporation. Currently, he is an advisor to the Walla Walla Community College Building Construction Program. He has served as a board member of the Board of Governors of Walla Walla Community College Foundation, the Home Builders Association of Walla Walla, and the Walla Walla College Alumni Association An alumni association is an association of graduates (alumni) or, more broadly, of former students.
