American flag football: Best of British Predators kids fly the flag home and abroad.


A GROUP of Scots kids have been flying the flag with a string of national and international successes.

Carluke Predators formed only three years ago play American flag football, a non-contact version of American grid iron football.

In the last few months their junior aged 12-14 team have taken the country by storm. The Predators youngsters began bybecoming Scottish champions. They went on to beat English title-winners Eastbourne Cardinals to be crowned British champions.

And at the European flag finals in Glasgow they were the first British team to win a game at European level.

, Mark Winter and Martin Clyde were picked to travel to Italy with the Great British Lions.

William's junior squad won the European championship while the cadet squad that included Mark and Martin were runners-up. Inthe Scottish Flag Football Association The Scottish Flag Football Association (SFFA) is the governing body of flag football in Scotland. The SFFA have 4 age Groups.

Cadets - 8-13 Juniors - 14-15 Youths - 16-17 Senoirs - 18+

The Following teams are all teams recognised by the SFFA.
 league Predators were West and South champions and they beat Glasgow Tigers in the SAU SAU Saudi Arabia (ISO Country code)
SAU St. Ambrose University (Davenport, IA)
SAU Spring Arbor University (Spring Arbor, Michigan) 
 Bowl.

The Lanarkshire team even made it onto national television in the Channel 5 Trophy.

They won all their games on the way to beating Cardinals in the final.

Their latest success came last week when Mark and Martin were part of a Scotland team which beat England in a big international grudge match at Grangemouth.
