, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1995--American Water Works Co. Inc. Thursday Thursday: see week.  reported third quarter 1995 net income to common stock of $31.6 million, an increase of 18% over the $26.8 million earned in the third quarter of 1994.

Earnings per share for the quarter were up 12% to 94 cents from 84 cents last year.
