American Water's Dr. Mark LeChevallier to Speak at Global Conference on Drinking Water.

:AWK), the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company, today announced Dr. Mark LeChevallier, Director of Innovation and Environmental Stewardship, will speak at the Global Conference on Microbial Contaminants in Drinking Water in Singapore from October 5 through 8, 2009. A renowned expert in microbiology, LeChevallier will give a presentation titled "Management Risks from Pathogen Intrusion into Drinking Water Systems," during which he will explain methods for successful prevention, testing and treatment of source water contaminants.

In his role with American Water, where he has served for more than 20 years, LeChevallier directs the research, environmental management and environmental compliance programs for more than 1,000 operating centers, which includes environmental audits, development of a national cross connection control program, and implementation of environmental stewardship and greenhouse gas control programs. LeChevallier currently serves as the chair of the American Water Works Association American Water Works Association (AWWA) is an international nonprofit professional organization dedicated to the improvement of drinking water quality and supply.
