American Vantage Companies Announces New Subsidiary CEO.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2000

American Vantage Companies (Nasdaq:AVCS) today announced the hiring of Robert C. Wolfert as chief executive officer of its subsidiary, Placement 2000.Com Inc. ("Placement 2000").

Wolfert has more than 24 years of experience in the financial services, placement, software development and consulting industries worldwide. He was previously the president and chief executive officer of MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  Consulting/Constantin Group, the technology placement and consulting firm of the Constantin Group.

Prior to his position at MVP, Wolfert was managing director of Financial Technologies International, a state-of-the-art software development and consulting company serving the securities and related financial industries globally. Wolfert was a vice president with Chase Manhattan Bank The Chase Manhattan Bank, now part of JPMorgan Chase, was formed by the merger of the Chase National Bank and the Bank of the Manhattan Company in 1955. The bank is headquartered in New York City. , serving as strategic architect for Chase's Global Securities Business worldwide, and he held various management, operations, technology and marketing positions at Citicorp.

Wolfert was educated at the State University of New York (body) State University of New York - (SUNY) The public university system of New York State, USA, with campuses throughout the state.  and participates in a number of industry forums and local public affairs.

It is owned by MGM Mirage. The top five floors (floors 35-39) of the main hotel building are used by the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas.  and the Excalibur Hotel and Casino The Excalibur Hotel and Casino hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, in the United States. It is owned and operated by MGM Mirage.
