The installation of the VisiCAD system was the result of an extensive evaluation of Mecklenburg's operations by Fitch fitch: see polecat.  & Associates of Kansas City Kansas City, two adjacent cities of the same name, one (1990 pop. 149,767), seat of Wyandotte co., NE Kansas (inc. 1859), the other (1990 pop. 435,146), Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties, NW Mo. "A new CAD system was cited as a key requirement in order for us to achieve reduced response times. After a comprehensive search, we felt VisiCAD was the system to help us accomplish this."

"We are pleased that agencies like Mecklenburg EMS are recognizing that the VisiCAD system can be a key component in helping them deliver high quality emergency medical services An Emergency medical service (abbreviated to initialism "EMS" in many countries) is a service providing out-of-hospital acute care and transport to definitive care, to patients with illnesses and injuries which the patient believes constitutes a medical emergency.  to their communities," said Christopher Maloney, president of American TriTech.

Prior to the selection of the VisiCAD system, the Mecklenburg EMS Agency was utilizing an ambulance-only PC-based CAD system. Besides their requirements for improved response times, they needed a system with scaleability, and fire-specific features and functionality. "Since we provide both fire and EMS services, we needed a high performance system that offered us both capabilities," said Bagwell. "We found the VisiCAD system offered us everything we needed to manage the approximately 55,000 9-1-1 calls we receive each year."
