American Technology Corporation's LRAD(TM) Installations Providing Infrastructure Protection to Oil and Gas Industry; LRADs Also Being Utilized for Long Range Communications in Nigeria, India, and in the Gulf Coast.

SAN DIEGO -- American Technology Corporation (ATC) (NASDAQ:ATCO ATCO - Air Tanker/Fixed Wing Coordinator
ATCO - Air Taxi and Commercial Operator
ATCO - Air Traffic Control Officer
ATCO - Association of Transport Coordinating Officers (UK)
ATCO - Automatic Telephone Central Office
ATCO - Aviation Transportation Coordination Office
), a leading innovator of commercial, government, and military directed sound products and solutions, announced today that its Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRAD LRAD - Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance
LRAD - Logistics and Readiness Analysis Division
LRAD - Long Range Acoustic Device (non-lethal weapon that creates a directed beam of earsplitting noise)
LRAD - Long-Range Alpha (Particle) Detection
) are being installed in growing numbers by the oil and gas industry for infrastructure protection and long range communications. Currently, there are LRAD installations in Nigeria, India and in the Gulf Coast with additional installations expected in these and other oil and gas producing regions.

"With LRAD having proven its worth in highly successful initial installations, we are receiving growing interest and orders from the oil and gas industry through our global network of channel partners and resellers," said John Zavoli, president and chief operating officer of ATC. "LRAD systems have applications at land and shore facilities, sea platforms, pipelines and terminals, and on transport and other ships and vehicles in use by the oil and gas industry. Due to the vast costs associated with repairing intentionally damaged oil and gas infrastructure (and associated lost revenues) this is a business area that we believe has significant potential for large orders of manually-operated, and remotely-operated networked, LRAD systems."

ATC's proprietary LRAD 1000 and 500 systems are designed to communicate with authority and exceptionally high intelligibility in a 15-30 degree beam in excess of 500 meters, and have the capability of emitting powerful warning tones to influence behavior, gain compliance and determine intent. LRADs are currently deployed in a variety of government, military and commercial installations around the world, including military deployments with the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and U.S. Navy in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
