OfficeMax retained ADFLOW Networks in 2005 to establish a digital signage network in large-format OfficeMax Advantage stores across the U.S. With the success of the initial deployment, ADFLOW is extending the network to include select mid-sized stores as well.

"Content is delivered through two high-resolution 40-inch LCD panels and two HSS units mounted within an eye-catching menu board located in the high-traffic printing service areas of the stores," said Wayne Ruttle, vice president of ADFLOW Networks. "To date, we've installed this system in select OfficeMax locations across the country. We have more than 120 new locations scheduled for installation over the next twelve months."

"We are excited to be working with ADFLOW and other channel and distribution partners on an increasing number of HSS-enabled retail-based digital signage network installations," commented Bruce Gray, ATC's vice president of commercial sales. "HSS provides in-store networks the critical feature of directionality to ensure that customers clearly hear the audio content while keeping the sound confined to a selected listening area."

ATC's patented HSS products offer display-point sound that is so focused that only the intended listener hears the audio content emanating from the system. HSS provides consistent virtual listening areas without the variability in sound intensity that is common in conventional loudspeakers.
