Bath Iron Works, located in Bath, Maine, will conduct testing on board a U.S. Navy Aegis Destroyer for a variety of applications to determine where the attributes of HSS will best serve the Navy's unique requirements.

This is the first shipment incorporating all of ATC's latest HSS developments into evaluation samples. It incorporates ATC's patented HSS emitter, fully digital modulation circuitry (patent-pending), and digital amplifier. The company's new digital modulation circuitry greatly enhances the clarity and narrowness of the highly directional beam of sound.

"We are excited at the prospects for commercialization of HSS after years of research and development. Our highly skilled team has overcome numerous design issues and changes in component availability to rework the technology to a platform that we believe we can manufacture in the near term," said Con Brosnan, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of ATC. "We believe that as people see and experience HSS, thousands of new, innovative applications will be created and developed to utilize our unique, patented technology."

HyperSonic Sound Technology, under development in the laboratories of American Technology Corp. in San Diego, is a revolutionary sound reproduction system. The most important quality of HSS(TM) is the ability to direct or focus sound into a tight beam, similar to the beam of light from a flashlight. Not since the development of the "cone" loudspeaker more than 75 years ago has any technology provided such significant departure from conventional speakers and such a remarkable approach to the reproduction of sound.
