Business Editors/Automotive Writers

BREA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 2003

Men and Women of the U.S. Armed Forces Can Save $500 on Aerio,

Aerio SX, XL-7, Vitara and Grand Vitara through July 31, 2003

American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC ASMC - Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference
ASMC - American Society of Military Comptrollers
ASMC - American Steel Motorcycle Club
ASMC - Area Support Medical Company
ASMC - Association of Sales & Marketing Companies
) has implemented a $500 customer cash incentive to any active or reserve member of the U.S. armed forces who purchases a model year 2002 or 2003 Suzuki vehicle through July 31, 2003.

The special offer -- across the entire Suzuki line of Aerio, Aerio SX, XL-7, Vitara and Grand Vitara -- also extends to the spouses and children of current military personnel.

"American Suzuki is proud to honor not only the men and women who served in 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' but all U.S. military personnel, reservists and their immediate families," said Rick Suzuki, ASMC president. "American Suzuki already represents tremendous value -- and we're delighted to make it even easier for those serving in the U.S. armed forces to own a Suzuki small car or SUV."

To qualify, active and reserve military personnel must show most recent leave and earnings statement to any of the 440 American Suzuki dealers in the United States.

Military spouses and children can claim the incentive by presenting immediate family member's most recent leave and earnings statement. The military incentive is available through July 31, 2003 and can be combined with any other Suzuki customer cash incentive.

All Suzuki vehicles are backed by "Suzuki's Open Road Promise(SM)," which includes America's #1 Warranty, a 7-year/100,000- mile powertrain limited warranty, a Courtesy Vehicle Program and 24-hour Roadside Assistance.

For more information on Suzuki vehicles, current incentive offers and U.S. dealer locations, go to www.suzuki.com.

American Suzuki has recently accelerated its move further into the U.S. automotive mainstream. The latest J.D. Power and Associates' Initial Quality Study (IQS), showed ASMC as the most improved automotive manufacturer in the industry with a 31 percent improvement in initial quality over the prior year.

Suzuki is also the recipient of a number of recent awards and accolades; among them, the Suzuki Aerio was named Edmunds.com's "Most Wanted Wagon Under $15,000" as part of the automotive Web site's annual compilation of favorite models in a variety of vehicle classes.

Consumers Digest was equally impressed with Suzuki vehicles, designating the Aerio and XL-7 as "Best Buys" for 2003. In addition, AAA selected the Aerio as the annual Auto Guide winner in the under $15,000 category and Kelley Blue Book named it one of its "Top 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000."

On the safety front, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS IIHS - Institute of Integral Handwriting Studies
IIHS - Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
) gave the Suzuki Aerio its highest overall rating of "Good" in its most recent 40 mph frontal offset crash tests and designated it a "Best Pick" in the competitive small car category.
