Although used chiefly in regions with annual rainfall of less than 20 in. (51 cm), it is also used in wetter areas to grow certain crops, e.g., rice. , with a high degree of success. With the addition of new formulations and product changes, we feel like the use of polymers may be as important a contribution to agriculture in the High Plains Area as the center pivot irrigation Centre pivot irrigation (sometimes called central pivot irrigation), also called circle irrigation, is a method of crop irrigation in which equipment rotates around a pivot.  technique was in years past." Gigot went on to state that, "We consider ourselves a leader in water saving technology and this new product line from American Soil Technologies is taken on with great excitement and anticipation."

About Gigot Agra Services

Jerry Gigot, a third generation native of western Kansas who lived on a farm 18 miles south of Garden City, started Gigot Agra Services, formerly Gigot Irrigation, in 1965. The family bought and installed one of the first center pivots in southwest Kansas in 1962, which proved to be very successful in the rough, sandy soil of southern Finney County. With the success of the center pivot irrigation on their own farms, it seemed logical to start a business of selling and servicing center pivots.

Gigot Irrigation developed and grew to a $10 million business, selling and servicing center pivot irrigation, as well as other irrigation equipment, with six outlets over a three-state area. In the mid-1990's, Gigot Irrigation was one of the first irrigation businesses to install drip tape Drip tape is a type of thin walled dripperline used in drip irrigation. The first drip tape, a product known as "Dew Hose", was developed in Watertown, New York, in the 1960's by Richard D. Chapin of Chapin Watermatics, USA.  in the region. They have always prided themselves in being the leader in the latest farming, irrigation and water saving technologies.
