(NASDAQ: MRBA), a leading provider of Internet-based software management solutions, today announced that American Skandia, the U.S. division of Skandia Insurance Company Ltd., a global financial services leader, will use Castanet to automatically distribute a custom software package that contains sales tools, product prospectuses, and enrollment forms that financial planners rely on when selling American Skandia's financial service products.

In the past, American Skandia sent ASSESS to licensed users on CD-ROMs. As the number of users increased to about 12,000, the company desired a more effective distribution mechanism. In addition to the high costs of printing, packaging and shipping the CD-ROMs, this media did not allow American Skandia to provide sales representatives with the timely information that is so vital in the financial services industry.

Because American Skandia wanted the software downloaded transparently to their end-users, the checkpoint restart feature of Castanet was also critical. "With this feature, a download will pick up where it last left off. In this way, the downloads can complete even if it takes a number of short sessions to do so," concluded Perrotti.
