American Shared Hospital Services Announces Boston Gamma Knife Center Opening.

:AMS)(PCX:AMS) for Common Stock, the world leader in providing Gamma Knife radiosurgery services, Thursday said that the Boston Gamma Knife Center, American Shared's seventh operational Gamma Knife unit, commenced operation on August 16, 1999. The Boston Gamma Knife Center is located at New England Medical Center, the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine The Tufts University School of Medicine is one of the eight schools that comprise Tufts University. Located on the university's health sciences campus in the Chinatown district of Boston, Massachusetts, the medical school has clinical affiliations with thousands of doctors and  in Boston.

Ernest A. Bates, M.D., Chairman and CEO of American Shared, said, "This newest Gamma Knife is our first in Massachusetts and our seventh in operation. We have additional Gamma Knife units scheduled to open in September in Little Rock, Arkansas Little Rock, Arkansas
